This book is one of my favorites from Peter Swanson, and I believe I have read all of his. I'm not sure I would categorize it as horror necessarily, and that is the theme this month, but the story would make a great horror movie in my opinion. So, I'm going to add it this month to review!

The story follows Abigail, a young woman that falls in love with millionaire Bruce Lamb and decides that his promise of a happy ever after is just what she needs! Bruce isn't Abigail's typical type, he's level-headed, and stable and just an all around nice guy.

Days before the wedding, at her bachelorette party, Abigail indulges in a one night stand with a steamy mystery man for one last time! The following day Abigail is racked with guilt and decides to keep her rendezvous a secret from Bruce. She heads to her wedding more determined than ever to embrace life with her solid and secure fiance. The wedding is held at an idylic home in the country side and the couple dance their first dance to Every Breath You Take by The Police. During their dance Abigail actually listens to the lyrics of this quite creepy song (seriously pick apart those lyrics!) and has some trepidation but she pushes that feeling away and allows herself to feel safe in the arms of her new husband.

Now it's off to their honeymoon on a secluded island, and that's where shit really starts to go sideways. The resort is exclusive and Abigail notices that many of the men there actually know each other. Then to add to the uncomfy feeling, enter the mysterious stranger that Abigail had her tryst with. Abigail runs into the man she cheated on her now husband with and he claims he will do whatever it takes to get her to leave Bruce and continue a relationship with him. What happens next will keep you engaged and reading way past your bedtime, but I won't give anything away! I highly recommend this fast paced novel, happy reading!
